Welcome
Welcome to the on-line portfolio of landscape photographer Michéla Griffith.
The images which appear on these pages reflect my main areas of interest – landscapes large and small – and inspiration over the past few years. Many of them are "Longnor Landscapes" local to my home close to the Staffordshire-Derbyshire border in the Peak District National Park. These are arranged in the Gallery titled "Between Two Rivers". Others are the result of holidays on the Northumberland Coast, or to Pembrokeshire, the Llyn Peninsula and the Gower.
All reflect my preference to explore small areas on foot and to make repeat visits. In between the broader views are distillations of form, pattern, texture and light. These 'personal' landscapes are often the compositions that give me most satisfaction.
If nothing else, photography has given me an appreciation of the quality of light, and convinced me of the merits of our latitude and changeable weather.
LATEST NEWS
I've been invited to take a stall at the Moorland Makers Artists' Market in Leek on Saturday 19 May 2012. The market will be at The Co-operative Emporium on the High Street between 10am and 4pm, and is billed to showcase "fine art, fine photography and contemporary crafts" from the Staffordshire Moorlands.
I'll be displaying a range of framed photographs, prints in mounts and cards, so please come along and have a look. For directions go to Google Maps
